We are very pleased to announce that effective Monday, April 3 2017, Walter Drew is joining Coveris Advanced Coatings as Director of Operations for our Matthews facility, reporting to John Adams, Managing Director. We are extremely pleased to have Walter join our team as he brings significant operational knowledge and expertise to our business.
Walter is an accomplished operations leader with over 25 years of experience in various operations roles including manufacturing, purchasing, planning and quality management. Walter was most recently the Director of Operations and Supply Chain Improvement for Sealed Air Corporation (SAC) with responsibility for facilities in Massachusetts and Virginia. Prior to SAC, he was a Business Operations Manager for Invensys, and Materials Manager for Tiffany and Company. He has held additional roles including Manufacturing Manager for NEPTCO, and Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Manager for Advanced Deposition Technologies. Throughout his career, Walter has utilized many of the tools used in Coveris’ Performance System (CPS) to engage employees, and implement sustainable performance and productivity improvements. His experience and leadership will be instrumental in building upon the strong CPS momentum in Matthews as we evolve to a best in class global coatings business.
Walter holds an MS in Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and a BSEE from WPI as well. He is a certified Six Sigma Black belt, an ASQ Certified Quality Technician, and has completed AME Bronze Level Lean Certification training.
